Research is proving what RRT therapists know

I was notified by Facebook the other day that I was tagged in a note by a fellow Rapid Resolution Therapist.  So of course I read the note, and this is what it said:
"Just returned from the annual California Association of Alcohol & Drug Educators (CAADE) conference. One of the presenters talked about current brain imaging research. His entire presentation was about the difference between the "conscious" part of the mind vs. the deeper inner mind or "emotional" part. He discussed how current treatments like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy do not address this deeper part of the mind (goat brain). He discussed how they are trying to develop medications to work on this area of the brain. Rapid Resolution Therapy does this quickly, effortlessly, and painlessly without the need for medication." -Dr. John K. Smith, Ph.D (as posted in a note on Facebook)

Dr. Smith is an amazing RRT therapist out in sunny California.  I have been fortunate enough to attend trainings with him and just adore him personally and professionally.  When I read his note I immediately asked if I could borrow his words and share them on my little blog.  (Obviously he said yes!)

Our human mind is very complex.  About 99% of it is subconscious mind, or goat mind as Dr. Smith noted.  Only about 1% is conscious mind.  In RRT we address that goat mind.  Why?  Because it controls all emotions, behaviors, and most of you (and my) thoughts.  Thus that's the part of the mind responsible for acting out, feeling those yucky feelings, and responding to thoughts that really have not been helpful.   That 1% conscious mind is about as big as a snowflake and it's responsible for some of your thoughts and for when you learn new things or difficult things (like trying to learn trigonometry.)  It just makes sense that if the subconscious mind is the part of the mind creating those feelings, behaviors, and thoughts someone no longer wants to have then clear the part of the mind that's making those things happen.  Like if your car needs a tune up don't have the mechanic put a new muffler on, have him tune up the car!

I know some don't see how powerful and effective Rapid Resolution Therapy is, but science is starting to show what I already know...eventually others will see what I see.
