Professional gratitude

Have I mentioned lately how much I love being a Rapid Resolution therapist? Well today was a huge reminder why I love the work I do. As I have mentioned before, I'm being pro-active and following up with current and past RRT clients. One past client in particular has become a current client again. He's needed some tuning up, so to speak, and had some past traumas reappear that we never cleared up before. So Monday I received a call from him asking if there was a time I could just touch base with him via the phone. (He lives over an hour from my office.) So today I called him, as we agreed. He basically wanted to tell me that he's a tad mad at me because, as he put it, "What ever it is that you are doing it is working. I'm calm, grounded, and things are going really good. I feel strong, stronger than I ever have before, and very empowered."
The long and the short of it he has recently found himself in a situation that could dramatically, and catastrophically effect him professionally and personally. In the process of clearing up all the emotional (current and past emotions) junk connected to this I was very open and honest about the fact this potential "bomb" needed to be addressed and handled. We reviewed possible ways for him to take care of this, and low and behold just days after seeing me another possible solution arose and he embraced it, faced it, and handled it with flying colors. All the while thinking "Holy crap what Tara does really works!" Out of respect for confidentiality I will not go into details, however this client's life is changing in so many amazing ways because of his new clarity on life. It's a rare thing to have a client express gratitude for the work one does in the counseling field. It is such an honor to be able to touch these people's lives and be such an instrument of change for them. I am immensely grateful for the knowledge and skills Dr. Jon Connelly has taught me with Rapid Resolution Therapy! I only hope that I am given more opportunities to help more people!
Be well, Be happy-Tara S. Dickherber, M.Ed, CPCDigg!
