PBS

I was getting my exercise Sunday night channel surfing and landed on a PBS show about raising orphaned cheetah cubs. I have enjoyed PBS shows since I was a little girl. I'm also a big animal lover and dream about being close to a cheetah someday, so this Nature program just sucked me in. Simon King is a wildlife photographer and (I missed the very first part of this show) he decided to raise these cubs. I found two things interesting, one that even after these cubs grew up and lived in the wild for years they still approached this man and his assistants like pussy cats. Second that even when raising furry children a parent is still faced with their own personal issues and how that impacts their ability to care for their children. Maybe there needs to be a book on ScreamFree animal care!? What was also interesting is how I never noticed, having had raised many animals myself, that my personal issues come up in pet ownership all the time. Hmmm...how are your pets reflecting your inner demons?
