Stimulation
We all hear, I'm sure, our loved ones talking about how when they get older they hope to not get dementia or some other type of disorder that renders us disabled, mentally. Some of this is genetic and a tad bit out of our control. Some we can control if we take the initiative. It means stimulating yourself mentally. Doing crossword puzzles, sudoku, reading, or other mind benders. Eating healthy and getting extra nutrients such as Omega 3 Fatty Acids is showing to be a help as well. Continuing your education can contribute to your overall mental health. Getting outside and enjoying nature, I believe, will also promote a healthy brain. As well as physical exercise. For me I take Omega 3s every day, I read something every day (I don't always rely on my MP3 player) I get outside any chance I can, and I chase a toddler around every day. How could you improve your mental health?
