Busy Busy

It appears I haven't posted anything for some time here.  Been busy busy as I know many of you have been as well.
Given that it is 2012 let me give you a quick overview of some past changes to my office policies.
1) I no longer do progress notes, treatment plans, and assessments.  Why?  ALL sessions are audio recorded.  This audio recording is one's file and yes you can have a copy of your session.
2) I do not provide paperwork and such for Social Security etc.  If such is required I have a $150 fee per document due BEFORE I complete the requested documentation.  I also do not do court appearances.  If you suspect any of this is required please let me know and I will make a referral to a therapist who can be available for such things.
3) The fee for a first session will be $350 any follow up fees will be at $200 per session.  This is a recent change.
4) All fees are due at the time of services rendered.  I know some clients have Health Savings Accounts and those HSA's prefer that I send you a bill and then you request the money after our session.  I am NO LONGER providing this bill, payment is due at the time of services rendered and my office manager will provide you will a receipt to submit to your HSA to be reimbursed for the fee you have paid.
5) I do provide a free 10 minute consultation for new clients.  I do not provide telephone, e-mail, or text counseling.  I realize the world of electronic communication is changing, all counseling issues need to be discussed quickly over the phone and then schedule an appointment to have those issues cleared and completed.  Lengthy telephone or e-mail contact will result in a fee as stated in my initial paperwork.
6) All sessions are scheduled for 3 hours.  We may utilize 1-3 hours of that time and again my fee is per session vs per hour.
7) My regular office hours are Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday- 930am, 2pm, and 5pm.
8) After your last session I will follow up with you in one week.  This is a service I provide that is included in your session fee.  We can quickly discuss concerns, comments, or questions you have.  If I feel that further sessions are necessary to complete an issue or concern I will inform you of such.  If you have other issues come up between your session and the follow up you can contact me before the follow up or wait until then.  If I am unable to speak or e-mail with you for follow up I will assume all is well and that you will contact me when/if necessary.
9) I do have a 24 hour cancellation policy.  However we do live in the Midwest and during the winter weather can make it dangerous to drive, as well as many illnesses tend to go around.  Let's put safety first and please note if you are not feeling well such as running a fever or have an illness that requires 24 hours of medication until you are "healthy" enough to be in social situations this may effect how well one responds to RRT...so it may be best to reschedule!!
Be well, Be happy-
