This week we Celebrate Thanksgiving and my biggest gratitude is related to my child. One I am so grateful that she is healthy, I know that I am very fortunate that she was born healthy and remains so. I am also grateful that I had lots of help through out her life. Ella had colic as an infant and didn't sleep much and nursed hourly for the first 3 months of her life. I was pushed to brink of a break down, somehow I found the ability to call my parents when I needed a nap or a chance to just eat. And they were always there. My in-laws as well helped out when they came into to town. Unfortunately this hasn't been so for every child out there. Third I'm grateful there is an organization like the Crisis Nursery. They are there for parents who don't have the help like I have had. A stressed out parent can drop their child off to get a much needed break. And lastly I am grateful to Dr. Connelly. Since starting training with him I have seen him for therapy several times. The work he has done to clear out my traumas and reorganize my emotional mind have allowed me to be more like the Mother and wife I have always wanted to be. As well as the chance he has given me at having my own column in his monthly newsletter and to be the Executive Director of the ISSV, his not-for-profit organization.
