PTSD treatment alternatives

Woke up this morning to an e-mail from my Rapid Resolution Therapy buddy Courtney Armstrong about using Mixed Martial Arts and Personal Safety classes to treat PTSD.
There's usually more than one way to fix a problem. I read the article and reviewed the video. I can definitely see how this can be helpful. I am glad to hear that they do acknowledge that such classes can "trigger" some uncomfortable emotions. What I hope is that the person leading the class has experience and knowledge on how to help that person manage those emotions that come up! I say this because I have taken an MMA class and a personal safety class. I have not been in any type of war or combat, in fact I have not been attacked, yet when my teacher, whom I trusted, put me in a choke hold with a fake knife I freaked!!! I froze and I panicked! As much respect as I have for that teacher he did not handle it very well and just kept me in that hold barking orders at me and the other students. Talk about a traumatizing experience within a supposedly safe environment!
But this isn't all about me...My point being I have no doubt that someone with trauma from combat can certainly be "triggered" and I want any PTSD treatment for them to be safe and productive. I agree with Courtney that Rapid Resolution Therapy could easily clear the emotional trauma for them so that they will not be "triggered" in such a way.
Things to think about, ponder, and consider...
