Recently I had begun thinking about past clients that I have utilized
Rapid Resolution Therapy with, how they left feeling much better, and wondering what they were up to now. Prior to my training in RRT it was my belief that I could be supportive to a client, and offer suggestions to how to cope differently with any problems they may have, and help them become more introspective and aware of their unhealthy coping skills and healthy coping skills. With RRT it is the therapist's responsibility to clear p and clean up any emotional trauma the client has. So in the past it was the client's responsibility to get better, now it's mine. Therefore I did little to no follow up previously, now I really want to know how my clients are doing. One because it's nice to know that I have been helpful to them and two because if I wasn't as helpful as I had hoped I need to fix that.
Now bare in mind I haven't had a lot of clients since becoming certified in RRT. What was great though was how well the majority of my clients are doing. Most are doing fabulously. One is still experiencing some issues relating to a relationship, but she stated she would come back when she's ready too. And my last client has been coming in fairly regularly, she admitted to me recently she hasn't been honest with what has been traumatizing her in life.
So I didn't have a 100% record but I am so impressed by all of my clients and where their at today! What I have learned is even with
Rapid Resolution Therapy some things stay the same with any type of counseling; you have to want to be in counseling and you have to be honest about what's going on for you.
