Scheduling relaxation

Some friends and my family are going on a Disney Cruise this summer. None of us have ever been on a cruise before. So this is pretty exciting. Unfortunately they live way out in the boonies and have no access to fast internet service. They've had a lot of problems getting shore excursions scheduled, as well as other activities. The other night I offered to sit on the phone with them, while on my computer (my blessed, wonderful Macbook!) and schedule activities and excursions they wanted to go on. Our friend Aaron, says while doing this "I didn't know going on vacation to relax was going to require so much scheduling." And he didn't say it as though he was excited and happy about it. His wife and I laughed and told him to stay home during the vacation and we'd enjoy ourselves thoroughly.
It got me thinking though, what has vacations come to that you have to schedule your entire vacation plans 75 days prior to your actual set vacation to insure that you have a good time and relax. Yes I know I'm big on managing your schedule and taking time for yourself. This just struck me as so funny that we're going through all this hassle to try to make our vacation relaxing and enjoyable. Now granted we're all scheduled for a few massages and sea weed wraps throughout the vacation, and excursions, so that's nice. It's just amazing how it takes all this work to relax. And it really does because some of the excursions filled up within days!
I'm still really excited about our trip, and I know Aaron is too because he got back on the computer later that night and was going through other activities to do. Maybe no one else finds this funny but me, I wanted to share anyways!
Be well, Be happy-

I hear (read) you. But I can't relate. I'm a planner and I enjoy it. And I'm thrilled when the subject to be planned is a vacation. In my opinion, it doesn't get any better than that.

Can't wait to read about the vacation. May it be as relaxing as scheduled.
