Simple life

I just read an article in the St. Louis Post Dispatch from this Sunday. It was about a retired School Social Worker who recently passed away. She died a millionaire and gave it all away. All with no one knowing how much she was worth. What stood out to me was how simple her life was. She grew up in the Great Depression, she became a social worker, assisted her parents in paying cash for their home. Never bought new furniture or even up graded her car. She lived life, she went places and got things she wanted- paying cash. She clipped coupons and saved well. She gave to charities and loved ones.
Life doesn't have to be complicated. Material goods do not mend a heart and fill your soul. Or at least it doesn't work that way for me. This woman has inspired me to be better than I am. To look more closely at my wants versus needs. There's such a HUGE f=difference with wants versus needs. Not may realize this. So I hope I gave you something to ponder today.
Be well, Be happy-

This is a great post. I began living by this thought process years ago. I fell off a year ago by using credit cards and now I am back to the simple life. I teach my little one that she has to pay cash for everything, to save, and to help others. She enjoys it nd so do I!
