A day set aside just to honor the fact that we all work very hard. Are you taking some time to balance out your life and play? We all need our jobs to pay our bills and feed our families. We stress about our jobs, our families, and sometimes ourselves. Ironically if we don't take care of ourselves then we can't take care of our families and we end up to physically ill to go to work. Balance is something my husband and I work on regularly. Running your own business can consume your entire life. W have come to agreements about when and where we can discuss work and try to unofficially set a time frame of how long we talk about work. I believe that if we focus on ourselves and our family FIRST the rest will follow. So far so great. At the beginning of each year we review our intentions for each section of our lives and then come to an agreement, write them out, and post them in places we can see them regularly and often. On a sort of regular basis we review our schedules and create time for ourselves, our marriage, and our family, then let other obligations fall into line.
A friend once gave me a decorative tile that reads "If you Love the life you live, you will live a life of love. And I do. I am blessed to have a life of love, I love what I do, my husband loves what he does. More importantly we love ourselves, each other, and our family. Each year our business grows. So today, we made playing our first priority. We went hiking. We did some shopping, we did a few chores, took naps, and will see some of our family. I love Labor Day. That is your homework for today-do something you love.
