Asking for help
I find inspiration from many places: nature, my family, my friends, my clients, and even my blogging and twitter world. I have been blogging a lot lately about self-confidence, balance for life, and to some extent assertiveness. The inspiration I received today was about asking for help. Humans have this thing called Pride. It gets in our way at times and can be helpful at other times. Pride hinders our willingness to ask for help. So often all we need is a little help, a little support, a little encouragement. Yet we give, and give, and give. Giving to the point of exhaustion. Some even give until they feel resentful and angry. Putting our pride aside when we need help is a HUGE endeavour. However it allows us time to heal, recoup, and (here's the cool thing) gives others the opportunity to give back to us. When you give so much to someone they can begin to feel guilty because they want to give back but don't have the opportunity to do so. What's keeping you from allowing others the chance to give and thus you get to receive? If you need further inspiration check out Naked In Eden who was my inspiration today. I adore Robin. She's an amazing woman! And for a look at someone asking for help check out Iwillnotdie. Go forth and ask for help!
